Transmission Sculpture

I first saw the Transmission Sculpture during the day; its massive forms standing alone in the desert. Realizing that although challenging, this magnificent work of art will look even more impressive if I could capture it at night under the Milky Way. Timing was important for the right shot. Using apps and charts I calculated a date
when there would be no moon in the sky. When that date came I drove to the site and calculated the correct camera setting for proper exposure.
As the desert darkened, I wondered if the sky would truly clear. For a while, it seemed like the stars might not appear. But then the night opened, revealing the Milky Way stretching across the horizon. The imposing sculptures stood illuminated beneath the galaxy, against the background of the dark desert, transforming the scene into something otherworldly.
