Sunset at Dana Point, Dana Point, CA

I drove to Dana Point. My plan was to frame the sunset through the sea cave opening. Choosing a time that the low tide and the sunset coincided, I maneuvered about a half mile across slippery rocks. The difficulty was to do this without getting my camera gear wet. The timing had to be exact—miss it, and the tide would block the way back and it would be after dark.
The cave framed the glorious sunset like a window, and the shot I envisioned came alive.
I was able to get back with my treasured photograph and my expensive camera gear dry
