My first attempt ended in failure. I had gotten up at 3:00 a.m. to take this picture. However, I was thwarted by a group of photographers. I patiently waited for them to leave. When they left I set up my camera, but the moon rose and spoiled my picture. So, I waited 24 hours and came back again at 3:00 a.m. This time I was alone and set up my camera using a backlight to highlight the rim of the arch. I snapped the shot. The long wait and patience was worth it. It fills me with pride every time I look at this photograph. Later it won second place in a photography competition.
