Mt. Whitney

This was an opportune moment where I was at the right place at the right time. On my way to Whitney Portal, I saw this magnificent mountain surrounded by scattered clouds. I had to get this shot of this towering peak framed against the sky. I pulled off the road, and found a spot to see if the clouds would clear. As I set up my camera, the clouds broke and exposed the jagged spires of Mount Whitney in dramatic light. This picture won first place in a photo competition.
